Fitness Friday: Tai Chi

What to except at the center:

This is a hybrid exercise program where you can workout with the Senior Planet community at the center! The instructor might not be in-person but the Colorado Senior Planet community will be! A trainer will also be there to help you use tech to track your fitness.

What fitness tech can a trainer help you with during this session:

  • Smartwatch- Setup your Apple watch, Android watch, Garmin or Fitbit to track your exercise.

About the type of exercise:

Traditional “Taijiquan” (Supreme ultimate fist) is a Chinese system of meditative exercises, characterized by methodically slow circular and stretching movements.  Taijiquan is one kind of martial art that you can use for your good health as well as for self-defense. This particular session includes balance exercise and also learning different movement sequences known as forms, a perfect combination for saving our memory as we age.

Comfortable Clothing and Sneakers

The Lowry center is located at 7585 E. Academy Boulevard, Denver, CO 20230.
Cross street: N. Syracuse Street.

  • Take the driveway with the rocket ship on the left and the B-52 airplane on the right.
  • Pass the Lowry Beer Garden and Extra Space Storage on the left.
  • The Senior Planet center is in the back left corner of Hangar 2.
